FSC captains past & present at 2017 annual dinner (L to R): Henry, Mike, me, Steve

Firstly, a huge thank you to Erika for organising a fantastic annual dinner, a great time was had by all.

Those of you who have been down to the club in the last week or so may have noticed the new additions to the erg room. We have purchased a set of Concept 2 slides, enabling us to work on technique even more while land training. We have also bought one new erg and replacement monitors for the remaining ergs that needed them. Hurrah for new toys.

Henry and I attended the public meeting of the PLA last night. They have just launched a new Tidal Thames app that has lots of useful info such as tides, fluvial flows, flag status and notices to mariners on it. I strongly suggest you download it as a means of keeping yourself informed about what's going on on the Tideway. We were also at the meeting to collect a prize we won for completing the PLA's sport participation survey. We collected £500 and a voucher for a lunch for two on City Cruises (more details to follow on who will get to use this!).

Finally, it's the Dewar Shield this Sunday at 1.30pm. The course will run from AK to the university stone on the flood tide. We have six 8s racing and any support will be much appreciated!
