ACCESS: the fob system on outer door is not working at the moment. We are working on it.

CLUB ROOM CLOSED this Saturday from 5pm for the party.

KIT KIT KIT: Jen doesn't yet have enough for minimum orders so please get your order to her for sweatshirts, jackets, socks by this Saturday. No order if we don't hit the miinimum! kit@furnivall.org

CLOCKS back this Saturday night and days getting shorter. If the streetlights are on you need lights on your boat (with 180 degree throw). Check your batteries!

Strength & conditioning sessions at the club. Professional, qualified coach Dan Kiernan is leading 6 sessions on consecutive Tuesdays. Slots for 5 people each at 18:30 and 19:30. He'll write a long-term programme and drop in e.g. once a month after the 6 sessions. It will help you build the strength essential for rowing fitness and will be designed such that you can do it in any gym, at home, in hotel rooms!! EVERYONE welcome. Email women's captain Christina to express interest and preference for 18:30 or 19:30 slot (womenscaptain@furnivall.org). Price will be £6 per person per session (assuming 5 people per session)

HAZARD area of the week: we've had recent incidents of FSC crews crossing the river in front of the club into the path of oncoming boats. Whether crossing to land or to boat, on ebb tide or flood, you must keep a good lookout BEFORE crossing and WHILE crossing and STOP if necessary. You do NOT have right of way when crossing the fairway. Stay safe people.

Rowing commitee (club captains, squad captains, sculling co-odinator and safety advisers): meet this Saturday. Please let your squad captain know if you want anything raising with regards to the water-side of the club.

Management committee observing: all members are very welcome to sit-in on a committee meeting to find out how your committee runs the good ship FSC (subject to no sensitive items being discussed). If you'd like to do that please let me know. The latest committee meeting minutes are on the board outside the clubroom.

Extreme tides next week 27 - 30 October: if at all possible, avoid going out +/- 1 hour around low tide due to risk of grounding, and ensure tide boards closed properly. If Surrey arch of Kew Road bridge is dry you must not go through the centre arch without a spotter who can see round the bend for you.
