FSC news w/c 11 Jan

Friday, 15th January 2016

Loads to pack in this week so I will just get on with it:

1. NAVIGATION: Ebb tide flag is still yellow (and Saturday and Sunday morning will be ebb). Briefly: strong stream which means 1) no novice crews 2) no small boats out alone 3) no-one above UL or below Barn Elms. FULL DETAILS.

2. CLUBROOM TOMORROW (Sat): the room is being hired out to non-members tomorrow from 1pm. Please vacate club and John Robbins (erg) room by that time and leave it super tidy (mugs etc in the dishwasher, food away inc crumbs!)

3. PARTYING: please get your RSVPs in to Erika for the annual dinner on Saturday 13 Feb. Social event of the Tideway - everyone very welcome! FULL DETAILS.

4. RACING: we will need full FSC contingent out in 8s to reclaim the Dewar Shield on Sunday 6 Feb! Men's squad please speak to Craig and Olly, girls squad to Christina and sculling group to Nik. As long as you know one end of an oar from the other, you're in.

5. KIT: our super stylish new kit range is now available! FULL DETAILS with pics. You can order your own via that website at any time! If you have special requirements (all those lucky enough to have long legs) please email our new suppliers Hugga. If you're racing please speak to Christina / Olly / Craig / Nik to find out what you need to not get a ticking off those lovely hard-working umpires.

part 1: please put the following dates in your diary for the big Tideway heads: Sat 5 March (wehorr), Sat 19 March (horr), Sun 20 Mar (vets). We'll really value (well, absolutely need!) your help to welcome crews to the club and get them safely boated. More details to follow from Jess, our Tideway heads boating co-ordinator.

part 2: if you're ever interested in helping out with the committee or shadowing our coach Chris in the launch to find out what coaching is all about, then please do drop me a line anytime or speak to any of the management committee or rowing committee or to Chris. There are lots of opportunities to help out or get some new skills - it's your club after all!

Have a great weekend

Sarah (assistant secretary) on behalf of FSC management committee and FSC rowing committee
