Racing at Peterborough this weekend

Pots all round for the guys at Peteborough Regatta 2013

Both the men's and the women's squads will have a strong representation at Peterborough Summer Regatta this weekend. This event is always a favourite of the late-summer calendar for Furnivall and this year is no exception!

We have a mighty seven entries from across the club; details of the crews are below. Please follow the Twitter feeds from FSC or Peterborough City RC to keep up with the latest news during the weekend. If you'd like to join us under the gazebo then you'd be more than welcome!

Crew details:

  • Women's 8+ (Andy, Jess H, Jen B, Erika, Vic, Jo, Sue, Steph. Cox: Ben).
  • Women's novice 4+ (Jess H, Lucy, Vic, Erika. Cox: Ben)
  • Women's IM3 & IM2 2x (Jenny, Fiona)
  • Women's novice 1x (Meri)
  • Men's IM3 8+ (Dan, Andy, Olly, Rod, Chris, Nat, Quentin, Mike. Cox: Scot).
  • Men's IM3 4+ (Dan, Rod, Olly, Mike. Cox: Scot).
  • Men's novice 4+ (Chris, Ian, Nat, Quentin. Cox: Ben)

Results from Saturday:

  • Women's 8+: third in the final.
  • Women's novice 4+: won their heat by 4 lengths, second in the final.
  • Women's 2x: third in the IM2 final; second in the IM3 heat (by only 0.1 seconds!), comfortably won their repechage, second in the final.
  • Men's IM3 4+: comfortably won their heat and then an agonising 0.2 seconds off a pot in the final.
  • Men's novice 4+: fourth in the final.

Here are details of the *updated* draw for Sunday:

  • Meri is up first in the nov 1x at 8:54 (heat, result: 2nd), then semi-final at 15:03 (result: 4th).
  • The women's nov 4+ starts their pot hunt at 9:48 (heat - won!) and the final (result: WINNERS following a dead heat with Leeds RC and a re-row).
  • Fiona and Jenny in the 2x will be racing at IM3 at 10:33 (heat - won!) and final at (result: 2nd). At IM2 level at 11:24 (heat - came 3rd).
  • The women's squad IM3 8+ races at 13:45 (heat, result: 4th).
  • To round off the day in style, the men's novice 4+ have a straight final at 18:15 (result: 2nd).
