Mike and Tim on their way to winning the
IM2 coxless pairs

On Saturday our men's and women's squads travelled en masse out to Kingston for the Kingston Small Boats Head.

The conditions were relatively good, compared to the N.E. Atlantic, for the morning division where we had the following Furnivall crews battling the elements:

  • Stars of the day Tim and Mike who won the men's IM2 pairs (4 crews racing), with a time of 18:43.
  • Dan, Andy, Rod and Jonathan in the men's IM2 4- category, who came 6th out of 6 in the IM2 4- category in a time of 18:33.
  • Chris, Ian, Iain, Quentin and cox Scot, who came 7th out of 7 in the men's IM3 4+ category with a time of 18:38.
  • Sarah, Jenny, Fiona, Christina and cox Andy, who came 2nd out of 4 crews in the women's IM2 4+ category in a time of 18:17.

For the afternoon division, conditions detiorated somewhat, leaving the FSC crews pining for the Tideway on a windy day. However, the following brave souls soldiered on:

  • Mike in the men's IM3 1x, who came 8th out of 11 in a time of 18:54.
  • Jenny and Fiona in the women's IM3 2x who did very well and came 2nd of 6 in a time of 19:01.
  • Sarah in the women's MasB 1x, coming 2nd of 2 in a time of 21:07.
  • Meri in the women's novice 1x, coming 4th of 6 in a time of 21:32.

Photographs of all crews are available from Rowing Photography. Thank you to Dan for driving the trailer!

On Sunday, Sol and Angelo raced in the men's novice 2x category in the Docklands Head, finishing in a highly respectable 2nd place.
