Our women's squad is the perfect place to develop your rowing skills in a friendly yet competitive environment. We do as much training as we can, fitting it around other personal commitments.

The current squad includes rowers with a wide range of abilities, from those who learnt to row with us this season to "older hands" who've previously rowed at university or other clubs. Our crews race at all levels, from novice to masters, in both sweep and sculling events. The squad always welcomes new members of all levels. For more information, please email womenscaptain-AT-furnivall.org.

We aim to field crews at a range of events in the rowing calendar, from Peterborough's Regatta, to the Women's Head of the River Race, through to smaller local regattas.

Training schedule

Winners of the IM3 IV+ event at Reading Regatta 2013

The regular year-round outings are on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; during the summer there are evening outings mid-week from 7 p.m. We have land training programme comprised of ergs, weights and circuits.

We are understanding that our members lead busy lives and therefore allow land training to be done at times and places to suit them. However, we encourage people to train at the club especially for the erg sessions on Wednesday evenings, to allow coaching and performance monitoring.
