Membership & Fees

Current Fees

*Concessions

We offer a 50% reduction to students, under-23s, those who graduated within the last calendar year and those earning less than the London Living Wage.  We also offer an out-of-term-time student membership for those who are at university elsewhere but in London during vacations. This costs three months x the concessionary fee for the months of June, July and August. Such members may also row at Christmas and Easter for an additional one month’s fee for each vacation.

Payment dates

Subscriptions can be paid annually  or monthly (due 1st of the month). There is usually a small increase in the membership fees each year. In that case, members are kindly requested to ensure that any standing orders are amended by the date the new fees come into effect.

Trial period

New members with rowing experience are welcome to join squad activities on a trial basis for up to a month before committing financially. If they decide to join the club, their subscription will be calculated starting from their first session at the club.

Subscription terms

Members join for an annual fee, which can be paid on a monthly basis. We do not pause membership unless for exceptional reasons (egserious injury). Members may terminate their membership at one month’s notice to the Membership Secretary. If a member leaves the Club, they must wait three months before being able to re-join and must go through the application process again. Club subscriptions are usually considered to be non–refundable. In special circumstances, however, and particularly in the case of annual subscriptions, requests for a subscription refund can be made to the Management Committee for consideration.

Payment method

All membership subscriptions must be paid by electronic bank transfer into the club’s account. The membership officer will supply the FSC bank account details on joining. Please include as the payment reference "SUB"+<YOURSURNAME> e.g. SUBJONES.

Membership application form

Potential new members must complete a membership application form before going out on the water (or using gym equipment). The form includes emergency contact details, basic health information and the signed declaration that the individual is healthy and can swim 50 metres in light clothes. This is an essential part of the club's insurance cover.

Please email membership@furnivall.org for the form.

British Rowing membership

We recommend all our members join British Rowing for insurance purposes. This will cover you for civil liability and personal accident whilst rowing or sculling. Go to BR membership webpage to sign-up.
