Henley Women’s Regatta 2022

We were thrilled to have two women’s crews representing Furnivall at Henley Women’s Regatta this year. It was the first time that the club has had more than one crew at the regatta since 2013 (we think!).

Our first boat, the Club 8+, narrowly missed out on qualifying for the heats but their improved pace from last year showed the big strides the women’s squad have been making in recent months, since the full reopening of the club after the refurbishment. Our second boat, the Development 4+, was up against a tough field of 56 crews and gave it their all in windy conditions. A special mention has to go to Bobbie Mellor, who was competing at HWR having only learned to row last summer at Furnivall.

All of the women’s squad have left HWR feeling highly motivated for next season. The squad is accepting new members now if you are keen to join this friendly and hardworking group!
