Annual Dinner
Saturday 1st February
The Furnivall annual dinner is our chance to put on posh garb and head east to the Royal Thames Yacht Club in Knightsbridge. We start the evening in a most sophisticated manner, with a champagne reception and polite chit chat (mainly about rowing).
Over a delightful three course meal we have more entertaining chit chat (usually gets onto rowing) before the President and Captain present the annual awards for Services to Furnivall, and the Deep Sea Diver award.
By this time, a critical mass of attendees have usually imbibed sufficient wine to lead to a rapid departure for the dance floor where we all roll out our best moves. If rowing training isn't for building up dance floor stamina so one can boogie into the small hours then I don't know what it is for..
