Scullers Head win and Pairs Head report

Scullers Head

On Saturday 19 September, 12 scullers from across our Sculling Pack and Men’s and Women’s racing squads (including some of last season’s Development squad graduates) took to the Tideway to compete in Scullers Head, alongside a number of visiting crews.

Huge congratulations to all who completed the course, but in particular to Grace Morris for winning the W 1x Novice event!

Congratulations also go to podium finishers Bea Loveridge (2nd in W 1x Club) and Penny Rushby (3rd in W 1x MasAB, also taking home a pin for a top 50 finish).

Pairs Head

Following the strong showing at Scullers Head, attention quickly turned to Pairs Head just a few weeks later. After a foggy start to the day (and near cancellation of the event), we were treated to bright sunshine and perfect conditions for racing.

Seven Furnivall crews took to the course across our Men’s and Women’s racing squads. Particular congratulations go to Katie McDaid and Bea Loveridge for placing 2nd in W2- (Senior), also beating all but two Championship category crews in the process.
