Development Squad wins at Reading Town and British Club Championships
Reading Town Regatta
Whilst our senior squads were in Henley, our Development Squad took on Reading Town regatta, entering three coxed fours across the day. Competition was fierce, with a number of overseas crews using the event to test their speed before Henley Royal Regatta the following week.
Congratulations to Florence (c), Stuart, Cian, Lewis and Jonathan for winning Intermediate 1 4+, with the Development Men’s second 4+ making it a Furnivall 1-2.
British Rowing Club Championships
Over the weekend of 17-20 July, members of our Development Squad and Scullers Pack took on the 2km course at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham for British Rowing Club Championships.
For our Development Squad, this was the culmination of a fantastic and successful season of training and racing. Congratulations to the following crews for their selection for the event:
Women’s Beginner 4+: Florence (c), Helina, Brittany, Jemima and Holly
Mixed Club 4+ (A): Florence (c), Jonathan, Cian, Holly and Helina
Mixed Club 4+ (B): Margot (c), Austin, Gok, Jemima and Brittany
Open Beginner 4+ (A): Florence (c), Stuart, Cian, Lewis and Jonathan
Open Beginner 4+ (B): Margot (c), Austin, Leon, Jonathan and Hugo
Women’s Beginner 1x: Holly
Particular congratulations go to our two Open Beginner 4+ boats, bringing home silver and bronze medals from their final!
We also saw entries from two of our single scullers - Mike and Sam - who put in great results in the Open Club 1x event, with Sam just missing out on the win in his final after a close fought race.
